Dear Montpelier Community,

As we transition into the warmth and beauty of spring, I’m sure like me, you’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of longer, sunnier days—and, of course, swimming! Our kids look forward to the summer swim season each year, and it’s always a joy to watch new swimmers discover just how fun and exciting summer swim can be.

This year, however, we face a significant challenge that threatens our swim season: we currently don’t have a head coach! Without a coach, there can be no swim team. It’s as simple and disappointing as that. Despite our small committee’s efforts over the past few months to recruit, we have not yet secured a head coach for the summer.

That’s where you come in. We need your help to spread the word and tap into your networks. Reach out to neighbors, former swimmers, and anyone you think might be a good fit for this important role. We have about one more month to find a coach before we’ll unfortunately have to cancel the swim season for this year.

You can find the  job description for the head coach position here—please feel free to share it with anyone who may be interested. Whether it's a former swimmer with a passion for coaching, a parent with swimming experience and availability, or someone else you know who might be a good fit, we would greatly appreciate your help in reaching out. All candidates will undergo interviews and background checks to ensure the best fit for our team.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we continue our search, and if by the end of April we haven’t secured a coach, we’ll let you know. This will give parents time to consider other swim teams for the summer.
