Important messages from the coaches, officials, and meet results

WE MADE IT THROUGH OUR FIRST MEET!!

Dear Marlins Swimmers & Families,

What an incredible start to our season! Today’s meet against the Northridge Swim Team was one for the books — the Marlins came out on top with a 292–245 victory! This is what happens when you have an experienced, dedicated coaching staff that evaluates every swimmer and builds a powerhouse lineup. Their hard work showed in every race. A huge round of applause for all of our swimmers who competed in their very first meet today: Serah, Particio, Ryan, John, Kenny, and Rose you were AMAZING. Whether you earned an official time or received a DQ, you stepped up, dove in, and gave it everything you had. That’s how champions grow.

To all of our swimmers — you raced with heart, spirit, and determination. And to our parents —thank you for being the backbone of this team. From setup to takedown, you dove in wherever you were needed (pun absolutely intended)! Your energy fuels our success. Let’s keep this momentum rolling into next week’s practices and into our next home meet against Bannister Neighborhood. We’ll be rocking a Hawaiian theme, so break out your brightest florals and show off that Marlin pride!

Great job, everyone — what a fantastic way to kick off the season!

Go Marlins!

The Marlins Committee

From the Coaches:

Dear Marlin Families,

Congrats team - your hard work at practice, grit, and team spirit brought home the win today!!

We were so excited to see each of you giving the meet your best and seeing so many improved

times even since just last week! We are looking forward to continuing to polish up strokes,

improve on starts/finishes, and trying to beat our best each week!

Big shoutout to Avila and Jonathan for being INCREDIBLE team sports today and swimming

up/out of their age group to help the team fill in some gaps for points. Without your willingness

to step in when the team needed you we may not have come home with the win today. So

THANK YOU!

- Mercedes & Vanessa

From the Officials:

Hey Marlins!!

Saturday was a day of new additions, and I want to highlight the excellent work of our officials.

Our team has a new referee, Mandi Armand, who did an amazing job, and Mike Armand

performed excellently in his role as Stroke and Turn. I would like to thank all the officials who

helped run the meet smoothly and efficiently.

For our new swimmers and their families, please keep the following reminders in mind to ensure

a successful season:

- Two-Hand Touches: Please be mindful of which strokes require a two-hand touch to avoid

technical infractions.

- Over Coaching: While we love the excitement, please refrain from giving additional

"coaching" once a swimmer enters the Clerk of Course or waits at the starting lane for their heat

to start. This can result in a disqualification by the referee; we encourage you to cheer from the sidelines instead.
