Marlins continue to Dominate!!!

Marlins Continue to Dominate

Marlins families and swimmers,

Meet 4 was another electric day in the pool, and your Montpelier Marlins came out on

top 319–190. That’s not just a win… that’s domination! And with this victory, we are

officially celebrating the best season we’ve had in NINE YEARS. When you combine

passionate swimmers with an award‑winning coaching team, you get something pretty

close to magic.

And speaking of magic — Eleazar Acosta’s saxophone performance of the National

Anthem was nothing short of stunning! Even in the blistering heat, his music set the

tone for a day full of pride, sportsmanship, and Marlin spirit.

Our parents were absolute heroes out there! From setting up tents, to officiating, to

timing lanes, and everything in between, you kept the meet running smoothly. A special

shout‑out to Molly Idol, who jumped in as timer runner when we were short of the

position! Fort Washington was complimenting us all morning on how well‑run the meet

was — that’s thanks to our officials, volunteers, and every parent who helped this meet

run like a whale‑oiled mammal (or better yet, a fast‑flippered Marlin!)!

The Marlins Swim Committee

From the Coaches:

Dear Marlin Families,

Great job team! What a great meet! We had some big time drops/best times of the

season for some swimmers, and some close races that we pulled through and came out

on top. The 8&under freestyle relay was one for the books! Everyone showing up to

meets and coming together as a team is really making a HUGE difference this season.

We’ve had less scratches and more relay participation/attendance than last year and

what a difference it has made! We are so proud of the team spirit you all showed

despite the heat and are stoked to see you all Saturday for our LAST dual meet of the

season [hard to believe!].

Big thanks to all the Jr Coaches for stepping up and keeping an eye out for all the

younger swimmers in the heat and making sure everyone was staying as cool as

possible.

Also big thanks to Jon Strike for stepping in and helping to rally swimmers to clerk of

course on time!

Finally, congrats to Eddie Norton, Frankie Boesze Hayward, Jaylen Hebron, and

Olamipo Osifade for making it on the Top 25 times!

Keep up the great work team - see you at practice!

- Mercedes & VanessaFrom the Officials:

Christine Hebron and Erin Strike

A huge thank you to Christine Hebron and Erin Strike this week. Although they did not

originally sign up for the COC, runner, and team area representative roles, they stepped

up once again to help the team when needed. Their flexibility and willingness to serve

make a tremendous difference.

Melissa (Data Manager) (and Team Manger)

My hat's off to our Data Manager, Melissa. Week after week, she has worked through

data challenges that often extend from Thursday into Saturday morning. Her dedication

behind the scenes ensures the team is ready to compete each weekend. Thank you,

Melissa, for everything you do.

Coaching Staff

Thank you to our coaches for a 3–1 start to the season. Without a doubt, this has been

one of the strongest Marlin starts in years. The meet preparation and seeding have

positioned our swimmers well for success. Great job by the entire coaching staff.

Molly Idol

Thank you to Molly Idol for all of her hard work delivering timer slips, water, and cold

towels during an extremely hot meet. Those efforts helped keep everyone supported and comfortable throughout the day.
